The company’s mission is to maximize the efficiency and performance of their healthcare providers and deliver unparalleled billing and claim support to the patient. Job Summary: This position reports directly to the Vice President and has the primary responsibility to; ensure company standards and goals are reached within the payment posting department. Primary Duties: • Ensure proper payment posting received from insurance companies and patients via manual entry and/or electronic downloads • Ensures daily and monthly balancing practices are completed by deadlines • Coordinates with accounting department and bank of any lock box discrepancies • Ensures correct payment practice from contracts with insurance companies • Assure compliance with applicable healthcare industry rules, laws, and regulations • Report directly to the Director any compliance-related problems, unresolved issues, proposed changes, or developments affecting the department • Assign and give direction to staff, resolve problems, and set deadlines to ensure the timely completion of assigned work • Maintain strict confidentiality; adhere to HIPAA guidelines/regulations • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skill and Experience: • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of employees, teams, supervisors, directors, customers, and patients • Knowledge of the operations and procedural requirements of Medicare, Medicaid and third party insurance payers • Knowledge of the healthcare industry rules, laws, and regulations and HIPAA regulations • Knowledge of CPT, ICD9, coding, medical terminology • Ability to interpret EOB from insurance carriers to interpret appropriate payment and denial codes
